The Bazaar-Temples of Demobata

Demobata was once one of the Seven Treasures of the Empire of Da,  a league of cities that were rich and favoured with lower taxes and autonomy from the central state. The Seven Treasures in time became a sort of a reign within a reign, dominant and independent. Demobata was an important religious city, connected with the imbalsamation and preservation of corpses, the trade of incense, spice, natron and salt. The White Temples, also called the White Spirits, were also a bazaar for these goods and a school for all the priests willing to learn the art of imbalsamation.
