The Gate of the Vanished Acropolis

Painted for my series of books 'Fragments of the Past'

The Gate is built at the end of the sacred Erithian road, a route that travels from the faraway city of Mindus. It resembles in everything the monumental entrance to an Acropolis. Still, there is no trace of human presence for miles around it, the Gate is built on the verge of a cliff. If the Weather is clear, it is possible to see the Epizephrian Coast shining on the blue horizon.
