Glaura of the Vanishing Thiasus, daughter of Tissamèdo , was born from the Iskuzai mercenary-priest Tissamèdo of Adramittum with a young Etoi poetess, the famous Riterusa, made a slave and later freed by the Tyrant of Ankilas. Glaura was never properly initiated into a Thiasus, and after the death of her father, murdered by the assassins of Psantes, she led a wandering life without enjoying the protection of a phratry or a city. Her adventures led her to meet Prince Eliabro of the Tesmidai. It is said Glaura was able to cure a terrible affliction that prevented the young aristocrat from walking, and for this reason, she was crowned with the sacred wreath of lavender and invited to Beitris so that she could be celebrated with great honors. The poets, however, tell that Glaura was in love with a shepherd of the mountains, she gave up her wealth and withdrew with her beloved among the wild Narcissus Hills.
